Abstract
This study, titled “Islamic Political Discourse: Its Concept, Importance, Origins, and Classifications,” was selected due to the profound influence of Islamic political discourse. Islamic political discourse is not merely a means of communication or expression; rather, it represents an Islamic vision and a light derived from divine revelation. It upholds truth, manifests religious duty, and constitutes an act of worship. Within it lie the principles of enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong. This discourse is continuously renewed and applied to emerging issues and contemporary realities. With the emergence of political discourse, the research problem becomes evident in the absence of a precise foundational framework for the concept of Islamic political discourse, and in the difficulty of defining it clearly and distinguishing it from other general concept. Accordingly, this study aims to clarify the concept of political discourse, explain its importance, trace its origins, highlight its positive aspects and successes, examine its role and influence, and identify its significant sources. It also seeks to respond to critics of Islamic political discourse, present its classifications, and distinguish between freedom of expression and the religious obligation of expression within Islamic law. The research methodology combines the historical approach with evaluative analysis, as well as the descriptive analytical method, relying on authoritative sources and presenting information in a manner that provides the reader with an insightful and exploratory understanding. The study concludes that discourse is not a new term; rather, it is continuously renewed and reborn in every era in a manner consistent with the particularities of each stage. Islamic political discourse enquires a clear conceptual definition, and its classifications are numerous and continually evolving with the development of new means and tools. Furthermore, the study highlights the dangers of deviant discourse whether in the name of freedom or opposition when it contradicts Islamic law, as it can lead to significant harm.
