Abstract

This study aimed to examine melodic learning as a renewed educational approach that can be utilized in teaching Arabic grammar rules to primary school pupils. It sought to analyze its conceptual and pedagogical foundations, identify its cognitive, affective, and behavioral characteristics, and review its major instructional methods, strategies, and applications in teaching grammatical rules.     The study was motivated by the difficulties some learners encounter in learning Arabic grammar due to its abstract nature, which necessitates the exploration of instructional approaches that are more closely aligned with learners’ characteristics and educational needs. The study adopted the descriptive-analytical method through a review of educational literature and recent studies related to melodic learning and its applications in linguistic and educational contexts. The theoretical analysis of the literature indicated that melodic learning is grounded in a set of educational and psychological principles that support the use of rhythm, educational songs, and auditory activities in creating more interactive and engaging learning environments. The literature also revealed theoretical indicators and previous research findings supporting the potential of this approach to enhance the learning of linguistic concepts, increase motivation toward learning, and diversify methods for teaching Arabic grammar rules.      The study recommended giving greater attention to the integration of melodic learning in the design of Arabic language learning activities, training teachers to implement its strategies systematically, and conducting further experimental studies to investigate its impact on grammatical achievement, learning motivation, and other learning-related variables.
