Abstract

This research presents a fundamental overview of Edwards syndrome and the  Islamic ruling on aborting a fetus affected by this condition. The research problem centers on defining the concept of this disease, its main types, and how it is identified, in order to understand the most important jurisprudential rulings that result from it. The study also clarifies the concept of Edwards syndrome by defining it both linguistically and technically. It then explains the main causes and types of Edwards syndrome, including a discussion of the reasons for its occurrence and its most significant forms. It also outlines the methods of detecting and diagnosing Edwards syndrome. The research concludes with a presentation of the most common symptoms of Edwards syndrome.
