USING THE QURANIC GUIDANCE TO TREAT THE ISSUES OF THE REALITY IN LIGHT OF THE INTERPRETATION OF THE HOLY QURAN BY IBN UTHAYMEEN (MAY ALLAH HAVE MERCY ON HIM)

Abstract

This research aims to show the methodology of using the Quranic guidance in treating the issues of the reality in light of the interpretation of the Holy Quran by Ibn Uthaymeen (May Allah have mercy on him) (died in 1421H). That is through showing the relationship between the interpretation and the reality and reviewing applied models that dealt with six fields. The research problem was that the issue of using the Quranic guidance to deal the issues of the reality according to Ibn Uthaymeen has not been studied previously, although it is important and has plenty of scientific material in his interpretation. So this research was developed to reveal and explain it. The researcher has adopted the inductive, analytical and deductive approach. He reached several findings, the most important, as follows: The interpretation has a relationship with the reality since the revelation of the Holy Quran. This was clear in the reasons for the revelation, Ibn Uthaymeen’s awareness of the issues and challenges of the reality, his keenness to clarify the Sharia perspective derived from the Quran and the Sunnah regarding these issues, activating the interpretation guidance and benefits to treat the issues of the reality in various fields including: The field of defending Islam in which the research dealt with (5) issues, the field of advocating to Allah Almighty in which the research dealt with (3) issues, the field of protecting the community from crime and corruption in which the research dealt with (3) issues, the field of replying to some deviant sects in which the research dealt with (7) issues, the field of intellectual invasionin which the research dealt with (2) issues, and the field of the scientific theories in which the research dealt with (2) issues. The researcher recommended doing a comprehensive study regarding the doctrinal use of the guidance among scholars of Daw'a in the Holy Land, and comparing the approaches of contemporary interpreters in using the Quranic guidance and applying it to the reality.
