Abstract

This research establishes the concept of da`wah and its contemporary means and methods, from both literal and terminological perspctives, with reference to the Book of Allah and the guidance of His Prophet (peace be upon him). This reseach is titlted “The Scientific Foundation of Modern Techniques and Methods of Da`wah”. It consists of an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion. The introduction defines the concept of scientific foundation and contemporariness. The first chapter deals with the concept of the da`wah from literal and terminological perspectives and legal evidences from the Quran and Sunnah of its universality, immortality as well as its comprehensive legislative nature. The second chapter refers the contemporary means to language. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used all accessible means of his time to communicate the da`wah, including written correspondences, messages, and preparing a team of his companions to carry out this task. The Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon Him) used some methods used by polytheists after refining them of prohibited aspects. He used signs by hand and head and set examples. He employed all available means of communication, such as attending their councils, holding dialogues on the roads and on animals during travel. The third chapter finds out the linguistic meaning of a method, which asserts the variety of its nature including sentimental, intellectual, behavioral ones. The shariah aslo asserts the need for future prospects and the need to take the reasons of military and soft power both at times of peace and war. The Holy Quran addresses all generations through the universal verses in souls and horizons.
