The International Islamic Sciences Journal (IISJ) editorial team recognizes the growing role of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in scholarly research and academic writing. To preserve academic integrity, transparency, and publication ethics, the Journal adopts the following policy governing the use of GenAI by authors, reviewers, and members of the editorial team.

  1. Generative AI tools are not eligible for authorship. Authorship is limited to individuals who can take full intellectual responsibility and accountability for the content of a manuscript. Since GenAI systems cannot fulfill these responsibilities, they must not be identified as authors or co-authors.
  2. Authors are required to disclose any use of GenAI in the preparation of their manuscripts. Such disclosure should appear in the Acknowledgements section and specify how the technology was used, including, where applicable, assistance with literature review, research design, data analysis, visualization, language editing, drafting, or other stages of manuscript preparation. Authors remain solely responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the submitted work.
  3. Reviewers must not use GenAI tools to generate, revise, or assist in preparing peer review reports. Likewise, reviewers must not upload or disclose confidential manuscripts to external AI platforms, as doing so may compromise the confidentiality of the peer review process and infringe upon the authors' intellectual property rights.
  4. IISJ reserves the right to request additional information regarding the use of GenAI in submitted manuscripts. Failure to disclose significant AI-generated content or misuse of GenAI may result in manuscript rejection, retraction after publication, or other actions in accordance with the Journal's publication ethics policies.
