The Wisdoms of The Prohibitions in The Narrations of The Book of Food, Aqiqa, Hunting and Slaughtering and Sacrifice from Sahih Al-Bukhari – An Inductive Comparative Study Between Its Commentators

Abstract

This research aims to gather, in one place, the narrations in which there are prohibitions from the Books of Food, Aqiqa, Hunting and Slaughtering and Sacrifice from Sahih Al-Bukhari, whether the prohibition be direct or indirect, to expose the wisdom of the prohibition in these ahaadith, whether it be from the words of the Prophet(ﷺ) , or from the deductions of the commentators and scholars, with a focus on clarifying the influence of the school of Jurisprudence in the explanation of the wisdom if found. The research’s importance lies in the fact that it addresses an area in Fiqh As-Sunnah, that collects these ahaadith in one place, while exposing the wisdoms in the prohibitions and the level of influence of the school of Jurisprudence in the explanation of these wisdoms. The research  adopted an investigative approach, in gathering the ahaadith in which there is a prohibition, and the analytical method in organizing them into groups based on whether the prohibition is direct or indirect, and whether the wisdom of the prohibition in these ahaadith, whether it be from the words of the Prophet (ﷺ), or not. The most important results of this research are: a) The number of ahaadith in which there are prohibitions is 48 hadiths with repetition, and 22 without repetition. From these, there are 11 hadiths in which the prohibition is direct and the wisdom is mentioned, 5 hadiths in which the prohibition is direct and the wisdom is not mentioned, 3 hadiths in which the prohibition is indirect while the wisdom is mentioned, and 3 hadiths in which the prohibition is indirect, and the wisdom is not mentioned.
