Abstract

This research, extracted from the author's master's thesis, aims to address the role of a female Jurist of the Era in preserving the Islamic identity of society. It begins by defining the concept of identity and explains why a female Jurist of the Era must safeguard the Islamic identity of society. Islam requires us to instill two forms of immunity in individuals: immunity through awareness of Islamic culture and immunity through faith-based conviction.  The study also exposes the factors that have influenced the Islamic identity of society, including the challenges of globalization, exposure to diverse cultures, the erosion of cultural specificity, the dominant type of culture in society, and its relationship to intellectual invasion. Additionally, it examines the infiltration of sectarian and tribal ideologies and the resulting failure to keep pace with these challenges—both in society in general and in universities and schools in particular.  Preserving identity requires the combined efforts of official and civil institutions, as well as activating the role of a female Jurist of the Era and addressing the existing shortcomings. These shortcomings have led to a weakening of Islamic identity, making society a breeding ground for deviant and foreign ideas. As a result, society has become susceptible to superstitions and myths, while distortions, fabrications, and falsifications of values, principles, and ideals have become widespread. Misguidance and false desires have spread, making it imperative to address these effects and recognize the dimensions of preserving Islamic identity.  This can be achieved by spreading the necessary awareness for progress, guiding society toward sound innate nature (fitrah), and protecting the soul from fragmentation and conflict. This involves exposing the dimensions of sectarian-tribal thought and the aspects of intellectual and cultural invasion, safeguarding against contradictions and extremism, and focusing on the foundations that help preserve Islamic identity in society.  Reforming educational methods, bringing about tangible change in society, transitioning from ineffectiveness to effectiveness, understanding the era, and comprehending reality are essential steps. Additionally, illuminating the paths of society through jurisprudence and Islamic knowledge, as well as empowering women through proper education and upbringing, will enable them to play an active role in protecting society and preserving its identity from distortion, fabrication, and falsification.
