Abstract

This research focuses on the study of the Qur'anic verses that contain Pharaoh's speeches to the magicians and their responses to him within the context of the story of Prophet Musa (peace be upon him). The central issue of this research is encapsulated in the question: What are Pharaoh's speeches to the magicians in the Qur'an, and what was the magicians' stance towards these speeches? This is achieved through the analysis of the content of these speeches, extracting lessons and benefits from them, utilizing the inductive method to collect the relevant texts, the analytical method to study the rhetorical and psychological dimensions within them, and the deductive method to derive lessons and benefits that can be applied in contemporary contexts.

The research includes an introduction, definition of the concept of discourse, and a definition of Pharaoh and the magicians. The study is divided into an introduction, a prelude, two main sections, and a conclusion.

The research concludes that Pharaoh’s speeches before the magicians' belief primarily focused on enticing them to gain their support and loyalty. However, after their belief, these speeches turned into accusations, defamation, threats, and intimidation, aiming to deter them and re-establish absolute obedience. The study also highlighted the rhetorical and psychological techniques employed by the magicians in their responses, which reflected their firm adherence to faith despite Pharaoh's severe threats. Several benefits were drawn from these situations, including the importance of steadfastness in principle, the clear declaration of faith, and the rejection of submission to injustice, no matter the challenges. The study also emphasized the significance of applying these lessons in facing contemporary social and political pressures by adhering to truth and justice in confronting tyranny.
