This research sheds light on the jurisprudential principles presented in the book Al-Riwayatayn wa Al-Wajhayn. A broad understanding of these principles is crucial for anyone aspiring to become a judge or a jurist, as knowledge of these principles facilitates the derivation of rulings for contemporary issues. What distinguishes this book is the author’s dedication to collecting cases where differing narrations exist, then guiding each opinion using applicable jurisprudential principles, supported by relevant scriptural texts. This research addresses a scholarly gap, represented by the scarcity of studies on this aspect of Judge Abu Ya'la’s work. It aims to uncover the jurisprudential principles found in the book and to clarify the connection between these principles and the contemporary cases mentioned within it. The study contributes to empowering researchers and readers to understand the derivation of jurisprudential rulings through the principles used by Judge Abu Ya'la. It also fosters intellectual development in applying jurisprudential principles to extract legal rulings and enriches the Islamic library with an applied study of these principles. The research adopts two methodologies: the inductive method to collect and analyze jurisprudential principles from Al-Riwayatayn wa Al-Wajhayn, and the descriptive-analytical method to precisely describe and analyze phenomena, aiming to extract legal rulings and apply the principles. The findings reveal the richness of Al-Riwayatayn wa Al-Wajhayn in jurisprudential principles and its significance as a reference for facilitating judgments on contemporary cases. The study highlights the prominent role of Judge Abu Ya'la in jurisprudential foundations. The researcher recommends further study, verification, and analysis of the book, conducting comparative studies with the methodologies of other jurists, and organizing workshops to apply its principles to modern jurisprudential issues. Moreover, expanding research on the application of these principles to contemporary cases is encouraged.
