Abstract

This research highlights the concept of rhetorical inimitability (I‘jaz Bayani) in the Qur'an, a notion emphasized by scholars such as Abdul Qahir Al-Jurjani in his book Dala'il Al-I‘jaz. He explained that the organization and arrangement of words in the Qur'an are deeply interconnected, with meanings and expressions intricately woven together—a feature that can only be attributed to divine wisdom and precise knowledge. The study aims to explore this inimitability in the themes of Qur'anic chapters, focusing on style, structure, and the articulation of meanings through words that perfectly resonate with the human psyche, delivered in a progressive, eloquent manner at the highest level of linguistic and rhetorical excellence. The research asserts that each Qur'anic chapter has a central theme around which its issues revolve. These themes are presented with a unique eloquence that enables readers to grasp the chapter's subject matter and understand its issues cohesively. By employing inductive, analytical, and deductive methodologies, the study shows how these issues are inherently tied to the chapter's theme, making them comprehensible and actionable in light of God's guidance. Ultimately, this research reveals that the rhetorical inimitability of the Qur'an lies in its profound and impactful style, designed to address human souls at various levels. It serves as a testament to the divine origin of the Qur'an, offering guidance and clarity in understanding the purpose of life and fulfilling the role of stewardship on Earth.
