AL- MARDĀWĪ’S CORRECTION OF THE ḤANBALĪ SCHOOL OF THOUGHT

Abstract

The problem of the research lies in some problems related to al- Mardāwī’s correction of the Ḥanbalī school of thought; in terms of his efforts in correction, his methodology mentioned in the introductions of his books, the extent of the difference in his saying in correction, his influence on those who preceded him, his impact on those who followed him and mentioned some of the various examples of his corrections and the words used in it. By employing the inductive and analytical method. The author reached the following findings: (1) the great position of al- Mardāwī’s correction of the Ḥanbalī school of thought; (2) The independence of al- Mardāwī's personality in his jurisprudence and correction; (3) The claim that al-Mardāwī was influenced by Ibn Qāḍī ʻAjlūn al-Shāfiʻī was wrong; (4) the impact of al- Mardāwī’s correction on those after him from Ḥanbalis school of thought.
