ETHICAL COMMANDS AND PROHIBITIONS IN SURAT AL-KAHF: A THEMATIC ANALYSIS STUDY

Abstract

The problem of the research lies in the absence of a scientific study on the ethical commands and prohibitions through surat al-kahf that concern every Muslim, because of its significant effects, both on the individual side, or on the social side. Therefore, the study aimed to define the terms of ethical commands and prohibitions, and then to identify the Qurānic texts that order Muslims to carry out the duty of enjoining good and forbidding evil, on the ethical side. The inductive-analytical method was applied to trace the Qurānic verses that metnioned the ethical commands and prohibitions and analyse them. The study figured out that many Qurānic verses clarified the importance of ethical commands and prohibitions in surat al-kahf, and encouraged Muslims to follow the etiquetts of enjoining good and forbidding evil.
