SUSPICIONS OF AL-MURJI'AH RELATED TO RELIGIOUS TEXTS

Abstract

The problem of this research lies in the Murji’ah’s attempt to establish the conception that the faith is just a belief in the heart through the religious texts. Therefore, this study aimed to reveal this inferential defect in understanding the religious texts, to clarify the error of their reasoning and to realize their distortion of texts from their true meanings. By employing the critical approach to study these inferences, clarify its meanings and detect the defects of the Murji’ah’s ways in reviewing the religious texts, and the analytical approach to classify these suspicions and refer them to a universal types to determine the general flaws in them. This study concluded that the suspicions of the Murji’ah are based originally on the adoption of allegorical Qurʾānic verses, followed by separating the texts and inferring some of them without other, refusing to explain the allegorical verses by clear verses and fabricating false hadiths on the Prophet Peace Be upon Hi; to establish their suspicions belief and spread it.
