SEEKING BLESSINGS FROM THE RIGHTEOUS AND PAYING ATTENTION TO THE MONUMENTS OF THE PAST GENERATIONS: A THEOLOGICAL STUDY

Abstract

One of the most important topics of faith in the present era and the most dangerous is the issue of seeking blessings, and one of its most prominent forms is the issue of seeking blessings from the righteous, due to its suspicion, its wide spread, the many doubts about it and the strength of disagreement about it, although it is an ancient dispute, but it is strongly present in our time. This research came to contribute to the study of the subject and what is related to it from the monuments of the past generations, reviewing the opinion of both those who oppose and those who permit, and discussing the inferences of the two teams, complementing the previous studies, searching for the truth, and defining its ruling as required by the shari’a evidence. The research ended with confirming the permissibility of seeking moral blessings from the righteous, and preventing seeking physical blessings from them. Because it was not based on strong and no-disputing evidence, and follow it with a brief rulling about paying attention to the monuments of the past generations. The research came out with a recommendation to study the theological emerging issues related to the monuments of the past generations and tourism; To clarify its scientific image in order to apply the correct shari’a ruling on it, without exaggeration or negligence.
