Stages of teaching Arabic in Islamic secondary schools in Tanzania: a descriptive and analytical study

Abstract
ABSTRACT: The study aims to examine the Arabic language teaching curriculum at the secondary level in Islamic schools in Dar es Salaam State, Tanzania. This objective has several sub-objectives, including: examining the Arabic language teaching curriculum in Islamic secondary schools in Tanzania; examining the methods of teaching the Arabic language curriculum to students in Islamic secondary schools in Tanzania; and then proposing appropriate solutions to these obstacles and challenges. To achieve these objectives, the researcher adopted the descriptive approach. The study reached the following key findings: The objectives of the Arabic language teaching curriculum in Islamic secondary schools in Tanzania are unclear; among them are the use of disparate curricula in teaching the language, such as the Egyptian curriculum, the Sudanese curriculum, the Saudi curriculum, and other Arab countries; and Arabic language teachers in Islamic secondary schools in Tanzania are not interested in applying the correct teaching methods for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.
