Abstract

This study aims to define the meaning of atheism, its history and contemporary forms, the reasons which cause it to be attractive to teenage adolescents as well as discussing the main contemporary arguments for atheism and the rebuttals used against them by scholars. The study uses a descriptive, analytical, inductive, and deductive method in collecting the material and data necessary for the study. One of the most prominent findings of the study is that regardless of how many definitions of atheism there are, they generally have an underlying nihilistic philosophical doctrine which denies the existence of the Almighty Creator. And that atheism is a European creation caused by the tyranny of the church, which resulted in the rise of secularism, which in turn led to atheism. In light of these findings, the study recommends the following: it is necessary to inform the developers of high school curriculums of studies regarding atheism and take said studies into account. Educating adolescents about the dangers of blindly following their self-desires. Implementing family awareness programs to enlighten parents about the spread of the phenomenon of atheism among young people and the extent of its danger and conducting training courses for secondary school teachers to train them on how to respond to contemporary atheistic suspicions and discuss them with students.
