Islamic community, MUJTAMA” ISLAMI” in the discourse of moderation and Islamic movement

Abstract

With demolish of last Islamic caliphate in the early nineteen century; Muslim scholars struggles in their discourses to revive and bring up new Islamic states and to figure out relationship between Islamic societies and other modern states. Among the new rising terms in Islamic thought vis-à-vis this issue is the term “Islamic community, MUJTAMA” ISLAMI ”. This paper is shading light on the originality of the term, its concept, nature and related issue; as used in the school of Moderation and Islamic movement; the latest is represented by Seyyed Qutb, whereas the first by Yousef al-Qardawi. The researcher has used inductive and analytical approach in the study. Among the findings of the paper is that the related issues concerning “Islamic community, MUJTAMA” ISLAMI ” belongs to the second category of Islam, which is “ religiosity ”, due to the fact that it is under different matters of Islamic law “ FIQH ”. Thus, it does not full under the first categorization of Islam that is “ religion ” as it concerned with faith items in Islam.
