This study provides an analytical approximation of Abū al-Maʿālī al-Juwaynī’s methodology in his legal supplements to scholars in general and to his father, Abū Muḥammad al-Juwaynī, in particular, taking the chapters on acts of worship in Nihāyat al-Maṭlab fī Dirāyat al-Madhhab as a case study. The research is organized into an introductory chapter, two main sections, and a comprehensive conclusion. It addresses the definition of istidrāk (legal supplementation or correction), its purposes and effects, and highlights the principles and methods adopted by Abū al-Maʿālī in his corrections. The central problem of the study lies in investigating his methodology in these supplements, which, to the best of the researcher’s knowledge, has not been independently studied before. The main research question is: What methodology did Abū al-Maʿālī al-Juwaynī follow in his legal supplements on his father? The researcher employed an inductive-analytical approach, tracing and compiling the supplements, then extracting and analyzing the methodological patterns demonstrated in them. The study concludes that Abū al-Maʿālī employed diverse methods and motives in his supplements, and that his approach was consistent, systematic, and highly objective, reflecting his distinct scholarly personality and contributing to the richness of Islamic
