Abstract

This main objective of this research is to examine the Christian-Muslim relations and religious coexistence in Al-Andalus. During this period, there was a significant level of coexistence and religious dialogue between followers of Islam and Christianity in Al-Andalus. This era is particularly notable for being a period of intellectual exchange and coexistence among adherents of the three Abrahamic religions. Particularly, this era was distinguished by intellectual exchange and coexistence among followers of the three Abrahamic religions. Muslims played a crucial role in fostering intellectual and cultural renaissance, and religious coexistence, during this period. Upon entering Al-Andalus, they arrived not 'by the sword' but as conquerors imbued with the spirit of tolerance advocated by Islam, dedicated to the promotion of knowledge and the establishment of justice among all members of society. Accordingly, this study aims to provide a historical overview of Al-Andalus before and after the Islamic conquest, analyze the mutual perspectives of Muslims and Christians toward one another, and finally, evaluate the role and impact of religious coexistence on Christianity. The study concludes that religious coexistence and Islamic philosophy profoundly influenced Christianity during this period.
