Abstract

Allah created this universe and designed for it a consistent system which cannot change. To understand this system, it is imperative to know its rules which are technically known as the divine rules. This research seeks to highlight some divine rules in Chapter of Yunus. It shall mention its major guidance after its practical application using the inductive cum analytical method. Through this method, verses shall be studied, divine rules collated, meanings of these verses analyzed, and their role in guiding the behaviors of individuals and society studied. It shall also use the inductive method to deduce major guidance of the divine rules. The research gives an overview of Chapter of Yunus and defines the concept of the divine rules. It also highlights major divine rules in Chapter of Yunus, their guidance and practical application. In addition, it explains main divine rules in the chapter under review, namely: 1) the rule on reward for action; 2) the rule of Allah that gives the unjust people grace period (to repent); 3) the rule on trial; 4) the rule of Allah on sustenance; and 5) the rule on guidance and misguidance. Thereafter, these rules are put into practical application and their major guidance is stated. Then, it concludes with a recommendation that remaining divine rules in the chapter of Yunus and in other chapters should be studied because of their significance in the life of individuals, societies, and nations.
