PROTECTING SOCIETIES FROM EXTREMISM THROUGH PROPHETIC TRADITION

Abstract

Islam urges moderation, and this is confirmed by the verses of the Noble al-Qurʼān and the Sunnah of the Prophet, In this research, I dealt with one of the topics related to a problem that many societies suffer from that has been attached to Islam because of the abuse of some Muslims as a result of a wrong understanding of the texts of the two revelations. The problem of the research was an attempt to collect the texts of the Prophet’s Sunnah from its main sources and to identify some of the correct ones to show how the homelands were protected and urged that through its glorious texts and it aimed to clarify the concept of protecting homelands and extremism, as well as clarifying the prophetic texts that urged moderation, deterd of extremism and confronted it for the sake of protecting the homelands. To achieve this goal, I followed the inductive, analytical and deductive approach, and I dealt with it through three sections: The first topic: I dealt with the definition of protecting homelands and extremism, linguistically and idiomatically. Then, in the second topic, I dealt with the prophetic texts that urged moderation and repelled extremism and their impact on protecting the homelands. In the third topic, I dealt with the prophetic texts that confronted extremist ideas to protect the homelands. The main result of the research is clariftying that by standing up to the Prophet’s Sunnah in the face of extremist ideas, terrorism and other things are not related to Islam, and I also mentioned in the conclusion the most important recommendations that I made.
