Abstract

The main issue of this research is to clarify the state of devotion to Allah the Almighty, as the limits are required if they are opposed and the issues overlapped, and if they are singled out without any dispute, they will not be lacking except for the mere definition of them, but they are conflicting and contradicting each other, according to the boundary boundaries, so that they disappear, and this is the case in the issue of sincerity, since sincerity has symptoms that are distracting at the same time, which are: Self luck, the will of the world, and hypocrisy, but the disputing of the issues with each other necessitates separating boundaries, so that they are distinguished and not mixed, and this is the case in the issue of sincerity, as it has symptoms that are distractors at the same time, which are: self-hate, worldly desire, and hypocrisy, each one of them has its relationship to sincerity, in definition and control, and this is what the research aims to investigate and know. It has been shown that the definition of sincerity with the luck of the soul in principle: there is no contradiction between them, as long as luck is within the limit of necessity and human need, so his request does not invalidate sincerity and does not harm it, since human being in his nature is in need of it, and neither world nor religion will be established for him except by striving for luck of himself, but exaggeration harms it until his sincerity is overshadowed. As for the will of the world, it is something beyond the fortune of the soul and more than it, and it is itself the tyranny of the self’s fortune. So the end of the self’s luck is the beginning of the worldly desire, and the worldly desire is prohibited and nullifies deed, an inheritance of torment. It has been stated in shari’a texts the absolute slander of the one who wants the world; because it is an absolute will that goes beyond the bounds of necessity and need, in contrast to seeking the self’s luck, as it is a human need, so it indicates the difference between them. Riya’ (show off) is a shirk in objects, and there is no need or a necessity for it like means. Therefore, taking means that are tools and machines like this world is not prohibited in every case, unless it is prevalent like self’s luck, and the will of the world is in itself tyranny. As for showing off, it is on levels: if it is easy and pushed, then it does not harm sincerity, but it harms it if it equals it or overwhelmed it.
