A Descriptive Study of the Terminologies of Arabic Functional Grammar

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Modern Arabic scholars have attempted many comparative researches on language and linguistics, after acquiring knowledge of western culture to actualize modernization in the study, among which the functional syntax has guided viably to the understanding of constructions, semantics and pragmatics, which possess some phonetic, philological, syntactical, morphological, rhetorical and literary terms, as all those aspects cannot be identified except with their terminologies and theories. Therefore, this study aimed at practical presentation of theories of the terms of functional syntax, to guide the students and researchers in the grammatical applications, having noticed that they always determine the clearness of expression in the language use. Descriptive approach was used for practical presentation while the survey method was adopted for theoretical presentation.
