Abstract

The idea of this research is based on tracking the use of the Holy Qur’an for the two structures verb and do, and an attempt to identify the semantic differences between these two structures, and how the Holy Qur’an employs these differences, based on what the researcher has adopted - according to others - of denying the absolute synonymy between the verb structures. The researcher traced the verbs employed by the Holy Qur’an in the form of “do and do” that go back to a single origin, namely: convey and inform, inform and foretell, honor and be generous, forbear and forbear, save and save, bless and bestow, bequeath and bequeath, descend and send down, fulfill and fulfill. On the rhetorical secrets that required the skill of the Holy Qur’an in choosing the structure of each verb, and that the Holy Qur’an does not employ an actual structure in a specific context; Then he modifies it and employs another structure in another context. Except when each structure carries a special signification that is more than the general signification learned from the original material. The research highlighted the secrets, the graphic reasons, the requirements of the context and the position, which necessitated the use of a verb structure, namely: the indication of repetition and multiplication, the indication of exaggeration and strength in the action, the indication of the occurrence of the action in detail and investigation and without prejudice to anything from it, the indication of gradualness and slowness in the action, and the indication On attention and care. As for the reasons that necessitated the employment of an active intention, they are the opposite of the meanings that are indicated by a verb. So where the verb came with the intention of doing at one time and doing at another, then the action is employed when there is no desire to exaggerate the act, or to indicate the occurrence of the event in general without detail and investigation, or to indicate the speed in the occurrence of the event and its occurrence at once.
