Abstract

ABSTRACT


This study deals with the linguistics of portmanteau or blending between Arabic and English; the aim of this study is to define the linguistic blending in both languages, as it also aims to identify the similarities and differences between the Arabic and English language along with their problems within blending while explaining the connection between the two languages in blending. The researcher had begin with the study's background along with statement of theoretical framework and previous studies. Also, the researcher adopted the study of the subjects on the comparison approach, as well as the definitions of language blending, its similarities and differences between Arabic and English in blending along with the connection between them. The researcher reached a number of results, the most important of which are: the existence of similarities and differences in linguistic blending between the two languages. Finally, the study is concluded by making a few recommendations to those concerned with the Arabic language in order to facilitate the process of learning and teaching the language.
