The Meaning of Consideration According to Imam Ibn Hibban (An Analytical Inductive Study within his Books in Light of Critics' Applications)

Abstract

The current research dealt with revealing and clarifying the meanings of consideration according to Imam Abu Hatim Ibn Hibban Al-Busti [D. 354H]. The research concluded that Imam Ibn Hibban used consideration in multiple meanings in his books: The First is the technical meaning of the narrator being fit to strengthen and be strengthened. The Second is related to the first and is the mechanism by which the narrator is fit to strengthen or not, The Third distinguishes the narrator's hadith by its rejecting and abandoning, and it's knowing to learn from or warn against it. The research referred to giving realistic examples through the sayings of Imam Ibn Hibban -Himself- compared to the sayings of those who preceded him and those who came after him from the imams of hadith.
