This study included an investigation of a manuscript entitled: “The Etiquette of Research and Debate,” by Judge Adud al-Din Abi al-Fadl Abd al-Rahman ibn Ahmad ibn Abd al-Ghaffar al-Iji al-Mutazzari al-Shirazi, who died in the year (756 AH).
The study aims to identify the personality of Judge Adud al-Din Abi al-Fadl Abd al-Rahman bin Ahmed al-Iji, and his scientific position, and to introduce his message: “Ethics of Research and Debate”, and to show its attribution to him, its scientific value, and its approach, and its output as an achiever for students of research and ethics, to stand on.
The study was divided into an introduction, and two parts: The first part: The study: I dealt with an introduction to the research, in which I introduced the manuscript, the importance of achieving it, the reason for choosing it, its problem, questions, objectives, previous studies, its methodology, procedures, and research plan.
Then I introduced the author of the letter, and mentioned his name, lineage, birth, upbringing, elders, disciples, practical effects, his jurisprudential doctrine, his creed approach, his scientific status, the scholars’ praise of him, and his death.
Then I introduced the manuscript to the letter, mentioning its attribution to its author, its subject, its scientific value, the author's approach to it, its resources and terminology, and its evaluation by mentioning its advantages and disadvantages.
In the second section: the investigation, I described the manuscript version, and showed the investigation approach, then I followed it with the verified text, in which the importance of this manuscript message appeared; Its abundant scientific material was evident, and the original sources relied on it emerged, and its many advantages emerged. Its author is one of the senior scholars of the Shafi’i school of thought in the eighth century AH.
Then this was followed by a conclusion that included the most important results and the most important recommendations.
