"Teachers' Attitudes towards the Teaching Profession in Basic Education and its Relationship with Some Variables: A Field Study in Jazeera State, Sudan"

Abstract

يهدف الباحث من هذه الدراسة معرفة طبيعة اتجاهات معلمي مرحلة الأساس بمحافظة الجزيرة

نحو مهنة التدريس وعلاقة هذه الاتجاهات ببعض المتغيرات. وكانت متغيرات الدراسة هي:

1- النوع (معلمين - معلمات).

2- مستوى الخبرة (خبرة طويلة - خبرة قصيرة).

وتوصل الباحث إلى النتائج الآتية:

(أ) إن اتجاهات معلمي مرحلة الأساس بمحافظة الجزيرة نحو مهنة التدريس إيجابية بصفة عامة.

(ب) توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين اتجاهات المعلمين وبين اتجاهات المعلمات لصالح المعلمين.

(ت) لا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين اتجاهات المعلمين ذوي الخبرة الطويلة وبين اتجاهات المعلمين ذوي الخبرة القصيرة.

ABSTRACT

Research aims of this study was to know the attitudes of the basic level teachers in the Gezira Province-Sudan- towards teaching and relationship of these attitudes with some variables. The variables of the study are: 1- Sex: (Male teachers -Female teachers). 2- The level of expertise (long experience - experience short). The research found the following results:

A. The attitudes of the basic level teachers in the Gezira Province-Sudan- towards teaching are generally positive.

B. There are differences of statistical significance among the attitudes of the male teachers and the ones of the female teacher to the male teacher side.

C. There are no different of statistical significance among the attitudes of the long-experienced teachers and those with shorter experience.
