Abstract:

This paper aims to examine the implications of the Islamic Financial Services law on the Islamic finance industry in Malaysia. It also aims to identify the importance of the Islamic Financial Services Law, and the challenges faced by operators in the Islamic finance industry and propose solutions for the benefits of this industry. We take the Malasian Islamic finance system development as a successful model in the Islamic finance industry

This research uses the qualitative approach to understand practices of Islamic Financial Services law and to analyze the actual implement in Malaysia; Data is collected through a survey and various Islamic Financial Services stakeholders. Together with the Bank Negara Malaysia Annual Reports, including audited financial statements

Some of the key findings in this research show that practices of the Islamic Financial Services law in Malaysia are the key reasons that brought out their prosperous growth. And that the lack of specific law for Islamic banks is their main obstacle because the traditional banking law is against to Islamic Finance law. Moreover, its financial system is not operated according to sharia-compliant.
