Abstract

ABSTRACT

This research deals with the doctrinal dimension of the value of certainty. It aims to highlight the features of the doctrinal establishment of the value of certainty, and to indicate the position of the value of certainty in the Islamic belief system, and extrapolating the value and ethical dimension of the value of certainty. The researcher used the deductive methodology and the inductive methodology. The researcher found the following results.  Certainty has three levels: I’lm al-Yaqīn (the absolute knowledge that agrees with the reality), Ayn Ḥaq al-Yaqīn (the certainty of watching the matter), and Ḥaq al-Yaqīn (the final level of certainty gained through experience). Islam has also paid great attention to the subject of grooming and rectifying behaviour through several means, the most important of which is to establish the correct doctrine by increasing the doctrinal dimension of the value of certainty. The study revealed that certainty has a great role in behavioural and ethical reflections, which will educate human behaviour and increase the doctrinal dimension of the value of certainty. The researcher recommended that there should be in-depth studies of the aspects related to the doctrinal dimension of the value of certainty in the form of academic theses in Islamic studies.
