Abstract
This research is a study of fundamental jurisprudential applications based on the Chapter of Judgment from the book Umdat AlAhkam min Kalam Khair alAnaam (Foundations of Rulings based on the Speech of the Best of Creation) by Hafiz Abdul Ghani bin Abdul Wahid Al-Maqdisi. It consists of a definition of the judiciary, followed by an explanation of fundamental jurisprudential applications and the difference between them and the deduction of specific rulings based on the principles of jurisprudence, followed by a discussion of the fundamental jurisprudential applications of six prophetic traditions on the subject of the judiciary included in the aforementioned chapter. This research highlights the importance of fundamental jurisprudential applications of theoretical principles to real-life situations. It also draws attention to the hadith scholars’ applications of fundamental jurisprudential principles based on prophetic hadiths, as well as the importance given to the prophetic example found in authentic hadith by jurisprudential theorists and the impact of their differing opinions on jurisprudential applications and rulings. The researcher recommends the inclusion of the study of fundamental jurisprudential applications in the curricula of colleges of Islamic Law, and to enrich the study of jurisprudential theory with further research in to jurisprudential applications of theoretical principles
