Abstract

This study aimed to develop stylistic analysis and creative narrative writing skills among high-achieving second-year secondary school students through a proposed interactive strategy based on reception theory in reading. The goal was to enhance these skills among high-achieving students in the third cycle in the United Arab Emirates.To achieve the study's objectives, the researcher undertook the following steps:


Conducted a theoretical review of previous research, studies, and relevant literature on the subject.Prepared a list of stylistic analysis skills appropriate for high-achieving second-year secondary school students.Developed a list of creative narrative writing skills suitable for high-achieving second-year secondary school students.Designed a stylistic analysis skills test for high-achieving second-year secondary school students.Created a creative narrative writing skills test for high-achieving second-year secondary school students.Prepared a teacher's guide utilizing the proposed interactive strategy based on reception theory in reading to develop stylistic analysis and creative narrative writing skills among high-achieving students in the third cycle.Selected a research sample of high-achieving students and divided it into two groups: experimental and control.Administered pre-tests for stylistic analysis and creative narrative writing skills to both the experimental and control groups. The proposed interactive strategy based on reception theory in reading was then applied to the experimental group, while the control group was taught using traditional methods. Post-tests for stylistic analysis and creative narrative writing skills were conducted for both groups.Statistical analysis of the pre- and post-test results revealed several findings, most notably the effectiveness of the proposed interactive strategy based on reception theory in reading in developing stylistic analysis and creative narrative writing skills among high-achieving students in the third cycle.In conclusion, the researcher provided a number of recommendations and suggestions based on the results.
