Scopus database and the Arabic journals in it (what they are, impact and criteria)

Abstract
Taking pride in the Arabic language, belittling its potential or showing interest in it does not facilitate an accurate measurement of its essence and influence. Scopus has secured its position at the forefront of academic research, attaining universal recognition. Its journals are among the greatest academic standards used to pen quality papers in over 40 languages – among which Arabic has nearly no place. This paper aims to study the reality of Scopus’ Arabic journals, to increase the awareness of Scopus’ acceptance criteria for journals, and to discuss how Arabic can become a widely-used language in academic spheres. In this study, qualitative and quantitative approaches have been adopted. From the most important findings of this research is working towards making Arabic a true language of science that is used substantially and increasing the awareness of those interested in Arabic and Islamic Studies of the universal scientific standards of research and publication.
