The effectiveness of the flipped learning strategy in developing deductive and critical reading comprehension skills among students of the Technical College in Riyadh

Abstract

This research aimed to reveal the effectiveness of the flipped learning strategy in developing deductive and critical reading comprehension skills among the students of the Technical College in Riyadh. students in each group, where the experimental group studied the two skills of reading comprehension: (deductive and critical) using the flipped learning strategy, and the control group studied the same two skills in the usual way. The research tools were prepared, which consisted of a list of reading comprehension skills, which consisted of (16) skills, and an achievement test in the two reading comprehension skills: deductive and critical, and after applying the flipped learning strategy on the experimental group, and the pre and post application of the test on the control and experimental groups. The results of the research showed that there is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the students of the experimental group and the control group in the post test of the deductive and critical reading comprehension skills, and the difference was in favor of the students of the experimental group on all levels of the deductive and critical reading comprehension skills, and on the total score of the test, which indicates the effectiveness Flipped learning strategy in developing deductive and critical reading comprehension skills among technical college students in Riyadh In the light of these results, the research recommended a set of recommendations, including: holding training courses and workshops for Arabic language teachers at the College of Technology in Riyadh to train them to use the flipped learning strategy used in this research, in order to improve students' learning of reading comprehension skills.
