A proposed conception for the development of the procedural research method For supervisors of mathematics in the light of recent trends in Jeddah

Abstract

The study aimed to build a proposed conception to develop the procedural research method for mathematics supervisors in the light of recent trends in the city of Jeddah. The study was conducted during the year 1442/2021, and the sample of the study consisted of (68) supervisors of mathematics (30 male supervisors and 38 female supervisors) in Jeddah. It was an intentional sample representing the characteristics of the study population, which represents the mathematics supervisors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study used the descriptive analytical method, and the questionnaire was used as a tool for the study,  The study focused on the method of action research, according to two recent trends only: Electronic Supervision. and development. Among the most important results of the study: the urgent need of the field to develop the method of procedural research in line with the requirements of the field of education and achieve its objectives, and the culture of procedural research is weak and rare in the educational field; Because most of the mathematics supervisors and teachers were unable to prepare it. The study also found that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05α ≤) between the response averages of the mathematics supervisors in the city of Jeddah towards the reality of the procedural research method due to the variables: years of experience, educational qualification, gender,  The study recommends the establishment of training courses to prepare procedural research for supervisors as well as teachers, and to spread the culture of procedural research in the educational field. It also suggests conducting future studies concerned with developing procedural research according to other recent trends that the study did not address.
