The effectiveness of the inverted classroom strategy using the educational platform Edmodo

Abstract

The research aims to identify the effectiveness of the flipped classroom strategy on the academic achievement of undergraduate female students. To achieve this, the researcher followed the quasi-experimental approach based on the design of the two groups: the experimental and the control group. After verifying the validity and stability of the tools, they were applied to the study sample consisting of (120) female students, who were divided into two groups: an experimental group (60) female students who were taught using the flipped classroom strategy through the Edmodo platform, and a control group (60) female students who were taught in the usual way. The data were processed using a t-test for two independent groups and a t-test for two related groups and the equation for calculating the effect size. The results of the research found that there were differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in the post-measurement of the achievement test in the direction of the experimental group, and differences were found between the mean scores of the pre- and post-measurements of the experimental group on the achievement test in the direction of the post-measurement, and the size of the impact of the strategy with Edmodo platform on achievement was significant In light of the research findings, a set of recommendations were presented, including: the use of the flipped classroom strategy in teaching university courses , and training faculty members to use it.
