The reality of the role of the Islamic education teacher In building the personality of secondary school students according to the Prophet’s curriculum

Abstract

The study examined the role of Islamic education teacher at secondary level in Sanhan province in building personality of students in accordance with prophetic approach. In order to achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher used descriptive and analytical approach. The study sample included the teachers of Islamic education at secondary level at the Sanhan educational centre in Sana'a province, both government and private schools, the total number of the sample was (54) male and female teachers, representing (45%) of the study population. The researcher used a questionnaire to reveal the reality of the educational role played by the Islamic education teacher in building the personality of secondary school students according to the Prophetic approach.


The prominent results are as follows:


The educational role played by the Islamic education teacher in building the personality of secondary school students at Sanhan Educational Center came with a high relative average of (2.83), and moral aspect ranked first.  There are differences between the role of the Islamic education teacher in building the personality of secondary school students as a whole and more especially the aspects of; (faith, psychological, moral, social) are in favor of teachers specializing in Islamic education i.e., the Holy Qur’an.  The research recommended the need to refer to the Prophetic approach in education in general, and in teaching Islamic education curricula in particular, and that it is not possible to build a balanced Islamic personality without referring to the divine approach and the prophetic approach to education
