The extent of the effectiveness of educational supervision in developing the teaching performance of teachers from their point of view in the competencies of planning, implementation and evaluation

Abstract

 


The current study aimed to identify the effectiveness of educational supervision in developing the teaching performance of teachers from their opinion of view in the competencies of planning, teaching and evaluation the study followed the descriptive survey method by applying a questionnaire tool prepared by the researcher on a sample of (458) teachers in Jeddah.


  The results of this study showed that the effectiveness of educational supervision in developing the teaching performance of teachers in general came to a low degree with an arithmetic mean (2.03), a standard deviation (0.65) and a relative weight (40%), while the degree of supervisory performance for the three competencies is arranged as follows:


- Teaching competencies ranked first with a high performance score with an arithmetic mean (3.42), a standard deviation (1.08) and a relative weight (68.4 % )


- The evaluation competencies came in second place with a medium performance score with an arithmetic mean (3.37), a standard deviation (1.14) and a relative weight(67.4% )


- The planning competencies cames in third place with an average performance score with an arithmetic mean (3.36), a standard deviation (1.11) and a relative weight (67.2% )


Then, in light of its results, this study suggested a number of recommendations that it believes will contribute to raising the level of effectiveness of supervisory performance in developing teachers' performance in the three competencies.
