Abstract
This study aims to identify the reality of media education in secondary schools in Yemen in Hadramout, and to reveal the differences between the opinions of school principals, deputies, teachers and students about teaching media education in secondary schools. The study questions were as follows: - What is the reality of teaching media education in secondary schools in The Republic of Yemen from the point of view of school principals, deputies, teachers and students? - Is there a statistically significant difference at the significance level α (0.05) between the opinions of school principals, deputies, teachers and students about media education in secondary schools? The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach. The study tool consisted of a questionnaire that measures the reality of teaching media education in Yemeni secondary schools from the point of view of school principals, deputies, teachers and students, and this questionnaire contained (66) items distributed on three domains. The sample of the study amounted to (450). The results showed that interest in media education comes from being the first line of defense to confront the era of information technology, the communications revolution and globalization, and the study also confirmed that media education did not help students to properly choose the media messages they receive and choose the social media they deal with, and the study confirmed the lack of interest in the curricula. The current academic subjects are in media education.
