Abstract
The aim of this research is to link between the rhetorical and grammatical basis related to the “Anastrophe” in the Arabic language by relating the structural and semantic aspects in an applied study of Surat al-Kahf (18th chapter of the Holy Quran) verses. My research was based on methods of induction, description, and analysis to explore the anastrophe that had provoked a debate between Arab grammarians and rhetors. This was achieved through a meticulous interpretation and analysis of the verses of the Holy Quran, which is characterized by the accuracy of the selection of a word among its synonyms, and linguistic inimitability of its position. Therefore, the research focused on a methodology that required mixing two scientific fields of the Arabic language. For that purpose, I analyzed the sentence’s structure on grammar basis from one side and the meanings of the sentence and its purposes from other side. The study was divided into 2 main sections: the theoretical section, which explained how to synthetize the speech and to relate between the word and its meaning. It included the analysis of the concept of the sentence from Arabic grammarians’ and rhetors’ view as well as the characteristics of Quran words. The second is the applied section where the places of “anastrophe” were investigated in Surat al-Kahf and explained in rhetorical and grammatical terms, by studying the sentences in a structural way and by following the views of the grammarians and the linguists. The cornerstone of the research in this work consists of exposure to grammatical structures that include the anastrophe in Surah Al-Kahf and how to express it, linking it to the rhetorical sense, as well as clarifying the rhetorical meanings contained in this Surah by interpreting and exploring its meaning. The research has several aims. It serves the holy book of God Almighty seeking mainly a reward from God as this is our intention. It also enriches the researcher’s grammar knowledge and enhance the learners’ acquisition in the eloquence of the Quran. Consequently, great benefits are expected from this work in understanding the best meanings of the words of God Almighty. This work has resulted in some points. First, the language method of the Quran is holier than to be governed by a steady rule. Quranic structures suit context and specific rhetorical goals. Second, the confirmation of the concept that the phenomenon of “anastrophe” is one of the most linguistic phenomena that have made the language earn its volition and flexibility.
