Abstract

Research Summary

This research is titled: “Belief in the Lordship of Allah and What Invalidates It from Atheism and Polytheism.”
It explains the difference between a believer’s monotheism in affirming Allah’s Lordship and His Divinity. The study highlights the significance of Tawheed ar-Ruboobiyyah (Monotheism in Lordship), draws attention to the innate, sensory, textual, and rational evidences for the existence of Allah, and provides a critical analysis and refutation of atheism and polytheism. It also addresses the misconceptions that have become widespread through social media platforms.

Accordingly, the research consists of an introduction, three main chapters, and a conclusion:

  • The introduction covers the importance of the topic, its objectives, structure, and methodology.

  • Chapter One discusses belief in the Oneness of Lordship.

  • Chapter Two presents the evidences for the existence of Allah.

  • Chapter Three focuses on the nullifiers of Tawheed ar-Ruboobiyyah.

The researcher concluded with several findings, the most important of which are:

  • Belief in Tawheed ar-Ruboobiyyah is part of the first pillar of the six pillars of faith. It is also one of the three essential categories of monotheism. A person’s Tawheed is not complete without it, and it is not sufficient on its own to enter Islam.

  • Presenting evidence for the existence of Allah beyond the innate nature (fitrah) falls under the category of multiplicity of evidences. Deducing the Creator through the creation is a sound rational method supported by the Qur’an.

  • Only a few have denied the existence of Allah when compared to the many who affirm it. Those who denied His existence did so either outwardly, out of arrogance, or while inwardly acknowledging a Creator but attributing that creation to nature or time.

  • Polytheists generally acknowledge the Oneness of Lordship. Very few sects have denied that Allah is the Creator, and no known group has claimed the existence of two equal gods in attributes and actions.
