Means of Preserving Morality in Light of Surat An- Nūr: A Thematic Analysis

Abstract

Morals in Islam represent one of the three pillars of islam, that can not followed by any change, which are: beliefs - worship - virtuesq (morals and transactions) Religion is the source from which people can distinguish good morals and bad ones. Therefore, everything in a Muslim’s life is linked to this Great Qur’an that he derived his belief, and he knew his worship and what pleases his Lord. And it contains what he needed of guidance in morals and dealings. The perfection of or declaration of faith is based on holding on good morals, and following the prophets and messengers orders in terms of rulings and laws, as that lead human to be in the company of Allah and his Messenger, and makes that human get the love of Allah first, and secondly the love of people. Allah has guided us to contemplate Qur’an, and to understand its meanings in order to understand the purposes and intents of all Ayah and Surah of the Qur’an. The researcher seeks a Surah from the great Surahs of the Qur’an that is full of sublime purposes that is Surah Alnoor. So the researcher had an honour to dive into the meanings and purposes of this Surah, following the approach of the commentators in terms of clarifying the intended interpretation through the inductive and deductive approach.
