Abstract
Praise be to Allah. This is a study on the ruling of traveling to countries where the days are short for the purpose of fasting. This is an issue that has become more common today due to the ease and availability of travel. The problem of the research lies in the travel of some individuals to countries where the day is short so that they can fast there. This raises questions about the ruling of their travel and fasting. The aim of the researcher in this study is to clarify the ruling of travel and fasting, demonstrate the flexibility of Islamic law, and alleviate hardship in its rulings for those who are obligated. The researcher has reached multiple conclusions, including the permissibility of travel for the mentioned purpose, as it is done for obedience to Allah. It is also concluded that fasting during travel is valid but not obligatory, as Allah has granted travelers the concession of breaking the fast. However, if a traveler reaches the destination country and intends to stay there for more than four days, they are given the same ruling as residents, and fasting becomes obligatory for them. Breaking the fast is only permissible for them with a legitimate excuse such as illness or new travel, and so on. And Allah knows best.
