A CRITIQUED AND EXPLICATED STUDY OF THE COMPOSED WORK IN A POETIC FORM TITLED ‘TATIMMATUL MATLOOB BIMAA ZAADAHU AN-NASHR LI YA’QOOB’ BY HIS EMINENCE, ASH-SHAIKH MUHAMMAD BIN ‘ABDUR-RAHMAAN AL-KHALEEJI (D.1389 AH)

Abstract

ABSTRACT

 The research aims to produce a critiqued and explicated study of the composed work in a poetic form titled ‘Tatimmatul Matloob bimaa Zaadahu an-Nashr li Ya’qoob’ by his eminence, ash-Shaikh Muhammad bin ‘Abdur-Rahmaan al-Khaleeji (d.1389 AH) according to academic methods. The problem statement for this research is: The primary and secondary aspects of Imaam Ya’qoob al-Hadramee’s mode of recitation along with its two narrators mentioned in the book ‘an-Nashr’ exceeded the number of aspects found in ‘ad-Durrah’ and ‘Tahbeer at-Tayseer’ books. The research objective: To produce a critiqued and explicated study of the composed work in a poetic form titled  ‘Tatimmatul Matloob bimaa Zaadahu an-Nashr li Ya’qoob’ by his eminence, ash-Shaikh Muhammad bin ‘Abdur-Rahmaan al-Khaleeji (d. 1389 AH) according to academic methods. The research method: I applied the historical descriptive analytical method, where I initiated the research by compiling a brief biography of the ninth reciter (Imaam Ya’qoob al-Hadramee and his two narrators) as well as apprising the reader about the author and his composed work. Subsequently, I went on to describe the manuscript and critiqued its lines of poetry and completed its review through explication. I completed the research with several conclusions, from them is that ash-Shaikh al-Khaleeji followed the method of Imaam al-Mansoury in his works. From the distinct aspects of these works is that they confirm many fine aspects that the works of al-Azmeeri do not. The reason behind this is that the works of al-Azmeeri rely on the foundations found in an-Nashr. In contrast, al-Mansoury relies in his works on what Imaam ibn al-Jazaree affirms in an-Nashr.
