Abstract

The current research aims to identify Ibn Taymiyah's Introduction to the fundamentals of interpretation, to illustrate its impact on Qur'anic studies. The researcher adopted the analytical descriptive and the inductive approach, to achieve the study objectives, and divided his research into an introduction, two topics, and a conclusion. In his research, the researcher has stated Ibn Taymiyyah’s biography and his introduction to the fundamentals of interpretation, the definition of the interpretation fundamentals science and its origins, then a statement of the impact of Ibn Taymiyyah’s introduction in the science of interpretation, and its impact on the ancient and modern interpretation books, , its impact on the Qur’anic sciences, its impact on the interpreters' methods, and finally dealt with the explanations to Ibn Taymiyyah’s introduction to the fundamentals of interpretation.

The researcher concluded that Ibn Taymiyah is considered one of the first scholars to be classified in the science of the fundamentals of interpretation, his study in the fundamentals of interpretation has a great importance in terms of its author, who has a high position in interpretation and a generous destiny, and in terms of the impact of this introduction on the scholars and their interest.

The researcher also concluded that Ibn Taymiyah's study of the interpretation fundamentals had a great impact on various fields of Quranic studies, most authors benefited from that study, either in the science of the fundamentals of interpretation, in the introductions to books of interpreters, in the sciences of the Qur’an, or in the books of interpreters' methodologies. Ibn Taymiyah's study also received multiple printed, electronic and audio explanations.
