Abstract
This research is a statement of Imam Al-Barqani's method of taʿdīl (that is; accrediting) in particular, through the questions of his Sheikh Al-Khatib Al-Baghdadi to him. His sayings about the narrators varied, in terms of authenticating and accrediting, considering the degree of each narrator. His style in accrediting was a middle ground between the hard-liner and the permissive. Among the most famous formulas that he used in the highest levels of authentication is the word: “Thiqah Thabt Hujjah (that is, Trustworthy, reliable, authority)”, then “Thiqah Thiqah (that is; Trustworthy Trustworthy)”. And most of the expressions of authentication and accrediting with him are: ‘Thiqah (that is; Trustworthy)’, then “LA BA-SA BIHI (that is; I know nothing bad about him)”. He used synonymous words for authentication; Like his saying: “(I know nothing of him but good)”, and the like. He uses the term “Sheikh” to mean “trustworthy,” or less than him, who is in the rank of evidence. He was interested in mentioning the signs of righteousness that the narrator possesses. As “Amin, that is honest)”, “Fadil (that is, Virtuous)”, and “Nabil (that is; noble)”, and describing him as ascetic, and describing him as venerable, and he probably swore in his judgment on the narrator. What distinguishes him is that he is not inflexible on one opinion about the narrator, but rather changes his opinion of him when his condition changes, and one of his methods is to judge the narrators after probing their conditions, and that innovation is not effective in discrediting the narrators; rather, it is important to memorize and control.
