Abstract
This research which titled: “Refutation of Some Suspicions Raised about the Collection and Writing of the Holy Qur'an,” aims to address some of the suspicions raised by the enemies of Islam about the collection and writing of the Qur’an and respond to them with scientific evidence that destroys these suspicions from its roots. There are many suspicions that the enemies of Islam try to raise for malicious purposes. Among them is what was raised about the position of Abdullah bin Masoud, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding the collection of the Qur’an, and claiming his objection to Zayd Ibn Thabit, may Allah be pleased with him, being chosen for this task over him. One of these the suspicions also is the suspicion that Zayd lost some verses of the Holy Qur’an, as well as the suspicion that the Prophet, peace be upon him, forgot some verses of the Holy Qur’an and some of the companions mentioned and remained him of them.
In this research, I have adopted the inductive-analytical method that presents these and other suspicions related to the collection and writing of the Book of Allah Almighty, the weakness of claimant's argument, and their evil way of thinking and lack of understanding, and the following are the most important results that I reached:
- The source of the Holy Qur’an is based on the divine inspiration with no room for diligence and hard working (ijtihad).
- The attack that the Noble Qur’an is facing by orientalists with the aim of casting doubt on it has made the Muslim more adherent to it and exert him/her to face these false suspicions by refuting and responding to them.
- Indeed, Ignorance of Muslims in the language of the Arabs today and their ignorance of the sciences of the Qur’an and its interpretation is a major reason for the transformation of these falsehoods into suspicions for ordinary Muslims, so the Muslim must be immune from these suspicions by knowing his religion and familiarity with its various sciences, especially the Arabic Language.
Many of these suspicions raised by orientalists about the Holy Qur’an are due to their ignorance of the Arabic Language by which the Qur’an was revealed, if they understood Arabic properly, they would not mention this suspicion; or that they were intentional to it because of their hatred for the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet of Islam, but despite the suspicions of the attackers, in ancient and modern ages, Islam remains saved and the Holy Qur’an is immortal, in fulfillment of the promise of Allah Almighty: "(They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it)" [Saff: 8]
