Abstract
This study dealt with the British Oriental School through the Orientalists' journeys to Mecca, which was the most prominent widespread school, and had its own characteristics. The aim of the study is to show the interest of the British Oriental School in Makkah, via their Orientalist journeys to it, in order to highlight the characteristics of the British School in Orientalist journeys, to monitor the most prominent British Orientalist travelers and their journeys to Mecca, and to identify their most prominent impressions. The researcher used the descriptive approach and divided the paper into three sections. The findings of the study are as follows:
- The British Oriental School is one of the oldest (and longest) schools associated to the East.
- Many of the travellers of the British School were distinguished by their accurate information and their high scientific level, which made their information reported in the travel blogs to Mecca.
- Eight British orientalist travelers arrived in Mecca, and each one of them had his own personality and different goals; from colonialism to a researcher seeking a Muslim.
