Abstract

All praise shall be exclusively to Allah by Whose grace good deeds are completed. Prayer and peace shall be upon our Prophet Mohammad, the noblest of messengers and the leader of the righteous who was sent to be a mercy for all creatures, a bearer of glad tidings and a warner, and peace shall be upon his family and his companions.

This research is an applied study aimed at finding out the most widespread melodies among non-Arabic-speaking Africans in their recitation of the Qur'an, knowing the reasons for their melody, and finding solutions and remedies that help eliminate the phenomenon of melody among Africans.

The subject of the research was applied by a practical study to African students at the Institute of Arabic Language Education for non-native speakers at um al-Qura University, and a sample of 40 of the 127 African students was taken.

Through the application of the study, it was found that the most common intonations in which the melody spreads among Africans are the provisions of the characters and hence the exits of the letters, and that the most common melodies among Africans in the exits of letters are the conversion of the eye into a humus, the conversion of the letter H to the letter E, and the most common melody among Africans in the characteristics of letters is the melody in the spelling and thinning of letters, especially in the letter al-Daad, the letter of the R, and the letter R.

At the end of this research, I recommended the need to intensify training programmes for teachers and learners, and to use Qur'anic laboratories and modern techniques to contribute to the elimination of the phenomenon of melody.

After all, my success can only come from Allah. May prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Mohammad, his family and his companions.
